Soy Gema Fullana, profesora de inglés y directora de Helen Doron English Oliva desde 2016.Soy licenciada en Periodismo por la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (1997) y de hecho trabajé como periodista hasta 2012, cuando empecé a dar clases de inglés en las escuelas Helen Doron English de Gandía y Oliva (mi ciudad natal) y después en Miramar, como profesora independiente de la marca.Decidí formarme como teacher en Helen Doron porque tengo una hija (que entonces tenía tres años) y quería enseñarle inglés. Siempre me ha apasionado la lengua inglesa, incluso estuve viviendo en Dublín (Irlanda) unos años para perfeccionar mi inglés. Pero no sabía cómo enseñar a una niña tan pequeña. Y el método Helen Doron me entusiasmó. De hecho, hoy mi hija es prácticamente trilingüe (valenciano, castellano e inglés) y yo he encontrado otra profesión que me encanta.En clase, disfruto especialmente enseñando a los más peques: escucharles sus primeras palabras en inglés cuando apenas hablan su lengua materna es una alegría inmensa. Y cuando van creciendo, la naturalidad con la que se relacionan en inglés ¡y las buenas notas en inglés que sacan en el cole! De los cursos Helen Doron English destacaría especialmente la música, nuestras canciones propias. Acabar la jornada con la voz justa porque has cantado como si no hubiera un mañana es una sensación fantástica. La verdad es que me siento superorgullosa de mi trabajo.
Hello! I am Gema Fullana, English teacher and director of Helen Doron English Oliva since 2016.I have a degree in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1997) and in fact I worked as a journalist until 2012, when I started teaching English at the Helen Doron English schools in Gandia and Oliva (my hometown) and later in Miramar, as an independent teacher of the brand.I decided to train as a teacher at Helen Doron because I have a daughter (who was three years old at that time) and I wanted to teach her English. I have always been passionate about the English language, I even lived in Dublin (Ireland) for a few years to perfect my English. But I didn’t know how to teach such a little girl. And the Helen Doron method got me excited. In fact, today my daughter is practically trilingual (Valencian, Spanish and English) and I have found another profession that I love.In class, I especially enjoy teaching the little ones: hearing their first words in English when they barely speak their mother tongue is an immense joy. And when they grow up, the naturalness with which they interact in English and the good results in English they get at school!About the Helen Doron English courses I would particularly highlight the music, our own songs. Ending the day with less voice because I have sung like there is no tomorrow is a fantastic feeling. The truth is that I feel super proud of my work.
Hola, me llamo Ann y soy de Solihull, una población de la mitad oeste de Inglaterra.
Vivo en Oliva desde 2008, enseñando inglés en British Schools y, desde 2013, en la academia Helen Doron English Oliva.
Tengo tres hijos mayores, de los cuales dos viven en Inglaterra, y el pequeño, que es bilingüe (o trilingüe, también habla valenciano), finalizó en 2021 sus estudios de Química en la Universitat de Valencia.
Además, desde 2022, tengo dos nietos preciosos.
En Helen Doron, he enseñado a bebés en el curso ‘Baby’s Best Start’, adolescentes en ‘Teen Express… ¡y prácticamente todos los cursos y edades intermedios!
Aprendiendo a través del juego, las canciones y las actividades que realizamos en clase, es claramente una fórmula ganadora. Cuando oigo a los alumnos hablar de forma tan fluida en inglés, incluso con 7 u 8 años, me siento increíblemente orgullosa.
Hi, I’m Ann and I’m from Solihull, in the West Midland in England.
I have lived in Spain since 2008, teaching in British Schools and, since 2013, at Helen Doron English Oliva.
I have three grown up children, two live in England and the youngest, who is bilingual, finished his Chemistry degree at Valencia University in 2021.
Also, since 2022, I have two beautiful grandsons.
In Helen Doron, I have taught Babies in the course ‘Baby’s Best Start’ and Teens in ‘Teen Express’ and everything in between!
Learning through play, songs and activities is clearly a winning formula. When I hear the students speaking so fluently in English, even 7 and 8 years olds, I am incredibly proud.

Desde siempre me ha encantado trabajar con niños y dar clases porque me gusta enseñar, pero me gusta también lo que aprendo cada día con ellos. Desde que conocí el método Helen Doron English me encantó y pasó a ser uno de mis favoritos, ya que es una forma mucho más divertida, dinámica y diferente para que los niños aprendan un idioma tan importante como es en inglés. Hola, soy Sergi y soy responsable de la parte administrativa y de recepción en Helen Doron English Oliva. Mi pareja (Gema Fullana) y yo decidimos hacernos cargo de la escuela en 2016, después de unos años de experiencia, también para mí, ayudando a Gema como profesora independiente de Helen Doron English en nuestro propio domicilio.
En mi caso también fue un cambio de profesión bastante drástico, ya que hasta la fecha siempre había trabajado en el sector audiovisual como técnico de televisión durante casi 30 años (operador de cámara, editor y realizador).
La verdad es que nunca pensé que disfrutaría tanto mi nuevo trabajo, sobre todo el contacto con las familias y la alegría que aportan siempre los niños.
Me encanta especialmente explicar nuestro método de aprendizaje, lo rápido que se aprecian los resultados. Y poner a mi hija de ejemplo.
Estoy en un trabajo que me gusta y me hace feliz, así que más no puedo pedir.
Hello, I am Sergi and I am responsible for the administrative and reception part of Helen Doron English Oliva. My partner (Gema Fullana) and I decided to take over the school in 2016 after a few years of experience helping Gema as an independent Helen Doron English teacher in our own home.
In my case, it was also quite a drastic career change, since to date I had always worked in the audiovisual sector as a television technician for almost 30 years (camera operator, editor and filmmaker).
The truth is that I never thought that I would enjoy my new job so much, especially the contact with families and the joy that children always bring.
I especially love explaining our learning method, how quickly the results are seen. And take my daughter as an example.
I’m in a job that I like and makes me happy, so I can’t ask for more.
